Peggy Porschen Cakes

Founded in 2003, Peggy Porschen is the cake maker to the stars. Her Parlour serves freshly baked cupcakes, cookies and layer cakes and also offers a selection of Peggy’s own blend teas, inspired by flavours found in her kitchen.

She’s also opened Peggy’s Cake Academy, London’s first cookery school entirely dedicated to baking, cake decorating and sugar craft!

Violet launched in Broadway Market in 2005, before opening her their own cafe Violet in Whilton Way, Hackney, in 2010.

All of the cakes are baked with organic flour, sugar, milk, and eggs and many of the other ingredients are organic, like the Madagascan vanilla pods and pure cane molasses.

Lola’s Cupcake

Lola’s began back in 2006. Now with four locations across London, Lola’s Cupcakes are a favourite with a range of flavours. All produce is baked fresh on the day and the shops only use natural ingredients.

A favourite is the strawberry cupcake, which contains strawberries mixed with melted white chocolate. They also gluten-free cupcakes, Lola’s have teamed up with Lactofree, the UK’s only lactose-free dairy range.

The Hummingbird Bakery

The Hummingbird Bakery landed in Notting Hill in early 2004 to become the home of quality American baking in London. Offering American style ‘frosting’ their salted caramel cupcake is a must.

They have six branches across the city and is famed the world over for its delicious cupcakes and other sweet treats and desserts.

Primrose Bakery

This bakery spot offer generous sized bits in vanilla, coffee and lemon flavours. Their retro-styled shop also sells a large range of other baked goods, including biscuits, croissants and layer cakes.

You must try their Jaffa Cake in cupcake form. It features chocolate frosting with a light lemony sponge and an orange jam layer.
