Jonathan Groff is back in HBO’s Looking: The Movie

If you’ve never heard of it, Looking was a HBO television show that captured the lives of Patrick Murray (Jonathan Groff) and his group of (mostly) gay friends, in the lively city of San Francisco.

After two seasons, unfortunately the show was cancelled. Thankfully, HBO have created the final piece of this beautifully gay puzzle, to wrap-up this story, with Looking: The Movie.

Actor Russell Tovey explained “When I read the script, I just cried my eyes out at the end, and there’s some very exciting events that are happening… It’s beautifully written and it’s incredibly moving – and it’s real.”

Series creator Michael Lannan informs that this feature-length special will take us to nine months since we last saw the characters at the end of the second season. The leading character, Patrick, has left San Francisco but its returning to attend a friend’s wedding.

The newest trailer suggests there could be a romance blooming between Patrick and his best friend Dom, another series regular.

Hopefully the film will give us the answers to all the questions we’ve been asking since the second series ended. What happened with Patrick and Kevin? What happened with Patrick and Richie? And most importantly, where is Doris now?

The film premiers on HBO 23rd July. Take a look at the trailer below.
