Dig into a toastie the New York way at Melt Room Soho

Giving food a gourmet spin has become all the range in London , but making a simple cheese toastie sexy is a task.

We’ve had Shoreditch’s Cereal Killer Cafe and the Melt Room in Soho specialises in grilled cheese sandwiches, here to bring some style to a staple favourite.

Their cheese, artisan bread, and meat cuts are of the finest quality and where possible, locally sourced. The menu offers wholesome melts that are not for the faint hearted, with choices such as The Full Works, BBQ Chicken or Pulled Pork Shoulder, and that’s just for starters.

Launched in May 2015, the shop is a short-order, grilled cheese sandwich station ready to delight. Priced from £3.50 to £7 the plates are pretty good value for money.

If you have more of a sweet pallet, you can enjoy a Peanut Butter and Jelly or Banoffee melt for dessert too.

Speaking previously, Andrey Datsenko, the founder of Melt Room said: “It’s not just a regular sandwich, it’s more like a philosophy. It’s about using quality ingredients.”

The bread is from the Wapping Sourdough bakery, while the cheese comes from a supplier in Kent.

Melt Room offers a packed menu of fillings and they’re all served alongside healthy juices and beverages all day, every day. So there’s no excuse not to pop by.

Try a traditional flavour or go for something you’d probably never consider at home. For example their ‘Roast Beetroot’ offering – a toasty filled with hummus, broad beans, feta and rocket; sliced between two thick pieces of artisan sourdough bread. Yum.

You can pop into Melt Room at  26 Noel Street, London, W1F 8GY, open Monday-Friday: 08:30-20:00, Saturday: 11:00-19:00 and Sunday: 11:00-18:00.
