Dine a four course Valentines menu themed around the tree of love from Greek mythology
To celebrate Valentine’s Day get the history books out!
Italian-inspired restaurant PASSO Shoreditch will team up with British Sicilian-born accomplished Chef Emilia Strazzanti to create a 4-course Sicilian-inspired feast (£45 per person).
The menu will be centred around the Sicilian almond, which blossoms in February and whose tree is synonymous with love in Greek mythology.
Hosted at the elegantly designed PASSO, Head Chef Joe Howley has collaborated with Strazzanti to create an exclusive menu, bringing together his passion for bold Italian flavours and reinterpretation of tradition and her knowledge of the culturally dynamic cuisine of her homeland.
Guests will be greeted with a refreshing Aperitivo crafted by the quintessential Italian gin VII Hills, to compliment the first course: a selection of Stuzzichini to whet the appetite.
This will be followed by Handmade Basil infused pasta with Pesto Trapenese, a classic pesto from the West coast of Sicily which is made with Sicilian almonds, sundried tomatoes & the sweet & salty Pecorino cheese. The main event is a traditional Swordfish dish – a Sicilian favourite – served with Caponata, marinated raisins & smoked almonds. Dessert is an elegant ode to the almond: Biancomangiare served with Almond & Orange Cantucci.
Shoreditch-based Italian wine specialists Passione Vino will be pairing each course with their favourite Sicilian wines too! The dining room event will feature an impressive installation from McQueen’s florists – who often partner with Strazzanti’s Supper Clubs.
