Hoxton is getting a new restaurant, bar and late night music venue!
Gigi’s Hoxton is a new all-day restaurant, bar and late night music venue, launching next week!
Launching on 20th June and taking over the former site of Zigfrid von Underbelly, Gigi’s Hoxton will be a venue like no other in London , with a unique fusion of cutting edge design, contemporary Italian-inflected food and kick-ass cocktails with the hottest DJ sets and live music, cementing its new place in Hoxton’s famously evolving going out scene.
Located in the heart of Shoreditch’s cultural quarter, Gigi’s Hoxton will present an incomparable space unlike anything else in London, where up to 250 guests can enjoy live music and DJ sets alongside a sophisticated food and drink offering.
The industrial and colourful design of Gigi’s reflects the eclectic personal style of owner, Giovanna. The main focal point of the venue is the stunning long bar topped with smooth green Wasabi stone that is lit by neon signs and stretches along one side of the room. The opposite wall is dominated by bespoke murals with strong feminine themes, hand-painted by artist Kate Philipson, the illustrator behind Leopards Lunch.
The front of the venue is filled with relaxed sofas, and the restaurant and bar features zinc-covered tables, colourful stools and grey and tan chairs. Gigi’s restaurant menus have been created by Head Chef Antonio Mollo, whose Italian heritage and passion for exuberant, high quality ingredients are reflected in fresh, colourful and cosmopolitan dishes.
Vibrant sharing plates, fragrant fish dishes and the freshest seasonal salads are complemented by a laid-back brunch menu that plays on regional Italian dishes and classic British favourites.
Examples from the restaurant menus include Pan-fried scallops with asparagus cream, purple cauliflower and a lemon & thyme bread crumble – £8.50, • Beetroot carpaccio with rocket, green apple, goats cheese, walnuts and honey lemon dressing – £8 and Roasted aubergine with a Tuscan Panzanella and served with rocket and garlic crostini – £11.
There’s also Grilled tuna steak with poppy seeds and a chicory, rocket, blood orange and fennel salad – £17.50, Bistecca alla Fiorentina – 1.5kg aged Scotch beef steak with rocket, cherry tomatoes and parmesan – £49 and Italian Breakfast – roasted cherry tomato, Italian sausage, fried egg, homemade baked beans, mixed wild mushrooms, smoked pancetta and green olive toasted ciabatta – £12.50.
