A Japanese restaurant has covered its ceiling in cherry blossom

Go for the Instagram, stay for the drinks and food!

Japanese restaurant Roka, based in Fitzrovia, is bringing the outside in with an installation of cherry blossom.

The canopy of flowers adorns the ceiling of its basement bar, Shochu Lounge, until June 7.

In Japan, the sakura flowers are in bloom between March and early April and prompt everyone to stop and bask in their natural beauty, with the movement known as hanami.

If you don’t fancy making a trip over, Roka is the perfect second best.

With a themed cocktail menu to suit the adorning flowers, there’s no excuse not to check it out with tipples such as The Sakura Sour, made with peach and whisky, or a sherry and plum-infused saké and whisky drink for fans of an Old Fashioned… Or try the Kyuri Highball, made with rice shochu and soda.

Visit the Shochu Lounge, until June 7 at Roka, 37 Charlotte St, Fitzrovia, London W1T 1RR
