Maltby Street Market is back open this weekend, but they’ll be no street food
One of our favourite markets is back!
As of Monday June 1 the government confirmed outdoor markets could once again open, but now with social-distancing measures in place.
With the good news – Bermondsey’s Maltby Street Market will be opening their gates once more. On Saturday June 6, the popular foodie spot after it’s stalls have been closed since March.
But, there will be a few changes… For now, the market is returning as the ‘Maltby St Produce Market, with the space holding ‘a small number of carefully selected produce traders’.
There will also be a one-way system through the market, and no hot food trucks at all.
Stores with permanent sites along the Ropewalk will be back open too including Bar Tozino, Bon Vino Enoteca, with new traders La Criolla empanadas and the much-loved Cheese Truck, which is selling its DIY grilled-cheese kits to take away and make at home.
Maltby Street produce market will be open on Saturday from 8am to 3pm and on Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
