Mile End is hosting London’s biggest beer garden this Spring!

Drink up, there’s more where that came from this May!

London’s biggest ever beer garden is set to open in Mile End this May with a German beer festival taking over the park for the very first time.

The ‘Biergarten’ will open April 27 – May 1 and then May 4 – 7 at Mile End Park as part of a traditional German celebration marking the changing of the seasons.

With room for over 2,000 drinkers, it’s going to be a boozy affair.

“We call it frühlingsfest in Germany” said Marvin Kluge, event manager, “That means we celebrate the spring starting and the winter being over. Typically, we do it with beer.”

Beer will be served in two-pint steins, whilst staff will all be dressed in traditional Bavarian costume.

It won’t stop at the drink either, with  ‘an authentic eatery experience’, serving up bratwurst, schnitzel, pretzels, cold meats and cheeses. They’ll also be live music and DJs on hand to bring the party.

Keeping in the German theme, they’ll be a market with small homemade crafts and gifts, plus an activity area with children’s games, including Hau den Lukas, a can knockdown game.
