Proper Indian street food as Chit Chaat Chai comes to Proud East’s Pop-Up India

Chaat are small sharing plates of Indian food.

And we can’t get enough of them!

The latest pop up restaurant spot at Hackney’s art and gallery space Proud East is Chit Chaat Chai, an Indian street food restaurant from Wandsworth, who’ll be taking residence for the whole summer.

Chit Chaat Chai’s menu are all small plates of food, great to share as a group.

There’s ‘Bombay Bhel’ with puffed rice and chickpeas, the ‘Pav Strikes Back’ with a ‘Darth Vada Pav’ burger comprising of spiced potato patties in a brioche bun, plus Hakka Wings and Keema Pav with spicy lamb mince also served in brioche.

Drinks wise, they’ll be Kingfisher beer on tap to keep you hydrated, and once you’ve finished up there’s Bollywood cinema, henna, or live sitar on the terrace overlooking Regent’s Canal to enjoy.

Visit Proud East, 2-10 Hertford Rd, London N1 5ET, open 6 July – 24 September 2017.

You bring the rum, I'll bring the raspberries. Perfect daiquiris all round.
