Zia Lucia teams up with The Athenian for National Pizza Day Greek and Italian ingredient special

Pizza, pizza… celebrate with a special pizza that brings together the finest Greek and Italian ingredients!

Saturday 9th February is National Pizza Day, the one day of the year to unashamedly celebrate the best thin and crispy, deep-pan, oozing burrata-topped, and vegan pizzas that London has to offer.

To mark the occasion, authentic Italian pizzeria Zia Lucia has teamed up with purveyors of Greek street food The Athenian, to create a special pizza.

Available exclusively at Zia Lucia in Boxpark Wembley from 9th-17th February, the Pizza Day special (£12.50) will combine classic Grecian flavours such as halloumi, Kalamata olives and oregano with traditional Italian ingredients including fresh chopped tomatoes marinated with basil, mozzarella and tomato sauce, as well as an unconventional Zia Lucia twist of smoked salmon.

Since 2014, The Athenian has been changing perceptions of contemporary Greek cuisine in the UK with its regional Greek street food and delicious souvlaki, meanwhile Zia Lucia has become renowned for its four unusual 48-hour slow-fermented pizza doughs.

On National Pizza Day, Greek food-lovers will able to enjoy favourites from The Athenian on their preferred Zia Lucia pizza dough which includes light and crisp gluten free and the black vegetable charcoal.

Ever-playful and inventive, both Mediterranean restaurants were excited to combine their larders and share in the neighbourly spirit of Boxpark Wembley to create a delicious and adventurous new pizza for National Pizza Day.
