This September, Brixton Beach are launching the UK’s first festival dedicated to Chilli Con Carne!

On Thursday 14 September Brixton Beach are partnering with Pritesh Mody from the critically acclaimed World of Zing to create the UK’s first ‘contemporary food and drink environment’ to put the spice into September with a carnival dedicated to the hispanic delicacy, Chilli Con Carne.

World of Zing will be showcasing their range of rare chillis from around the world as well as holding hot sauce making classes where customers will have the chance to make their own hot sauce to take home with them.

They will be able to taste a range of over 25 rare chillis to find their perfect spice partner and use them to make either a pineapple and habanero table sauce or a chilli ketchup.

For one night only, Brixton Beach welcomes a parade of one-off hot dishes from their resident street food vendors too including; Nanban : Miso Aubergine and Pork Cheek Chilli and Slow-cooked aubergine and pork cheek with red miso, Szechuan pepper, ancho chilli, garlic chips, parmesan, and yuzu-kosho yogurt.

There’s also Lambassadors – Lamb chilli con carne on chips; STAKEhaus – Chilli Cheese Friesand Mac to the Future – Mac n Cheese with 5 bean chilli topping. All dishes will cost the scorchingly good value price of £5 and there will also be plenty of frozen cocktails on tap to help with the burn!

The rooftop venue is situated in central Brixton minutes from the tube station. The entrance on one of the busy high streets opens out onto a vast 2,000sqm rooftop space.

The 1,000 capacity venue is secluded between two railway lines making it the ideal location to create a unique world, that is seen as an escape from the hustle and bustle of street level bars and restaurants.
