Merge Festival is back this summer with the ultimate dodgem experience
Merge Festival is returning to London bigger than ever!
The annual festival which takes part in Bankside is all about showing off art, music and performance pieces in some of London’s oldest and disused buildings.
And, this year it’s focusing on the fairground taking you right back to your childhood, whilst drinking colour changing cocktails. Plus, they’ll be the world’s first artist designed bumper car arena titled Drive Dead Slow.
The old fire station in Southwark has been converted into an adult fun fair, with a twist. As you enter, you’ll be greeted by the Plutchik’s wheel which will choose your 1960’s supercar via a spin!
The car has a personality of its own and is designed to react with each passenger differently.
Sound and light artists have collaborated to create the mirror experience which surrounds the car track. If that wasn’t enough, Bompas & Parr have created a cocktail using Saussure Gin that changes colour as a gin is added.
As the polarised tonic mixes, your drink will change from dark blue to light pink…
Drive Dead Slow at Southwark Fire Brigade, Southwark Bridge Road (Entrance on Sawyer Street), SE1 0EG, runs from May 12th – June 4th and is free from 12pm-4pm.
