Visit this perfectly pink Instagramable cocktail bar in Waterloo

You need to add this feminist-first pink covered bar to your wish list to visit this summer!

The team behind Adventure Bar in Clapham North and Covent Garden have launched a new bar Tonight Josephine, in Waterloo.

Steps away from the busy station, it’s the perfect spot to get away and delve into the pink takeover.

Entering the venue, there’s a large neon sign stating ‘Well-behaved women don’t make history’, and from there on in you know you’re in for a good night.

The bar is themed on Josephine De Beauharnais, one of history’s most famous lovers. According to the story books, Napoleon had a number of affairs and Josephine took a “fuck it” attitude and took lovers herself, threw many wild parties, and lived a very lavish lifestyle.

When Josephine joined Napoleon the night before a battle, he rebuffed her advances with “not tonight Josephine”. They broke up, but he always loved her… and apparently his last word was her name.

There’s a pink theme running throughout with plush seating, marble tables and pastel menus. It’s an Instagrammers dream.

On the menu are traditional cocktails served exactly how you like them, plus bartenders are happy to make you something up just to your liking. Drinks include classics like a Long Island, as well as Ziggy’s Stardust, a Bacardi Carta Oro rum, lychee liqueur, fresh lemon juice, orange juice and Bacardi Carta Negra float.

There’s the Violet Femme, Bombay Sapphire gin, violet liqueur, fresh lemon juice, sugar, egg white and parma violets.

Plus the Toasted Popcorn Sour a sweet and sour mix of Jack Daniel’s, popcorn syrup, fresh lemon juice, egg white and popcorn.

With good places to go out in Waterloo sparse, it’s promising to see such an exciting venue opening up. Let’s hope it’s the start of a revolution…

Visit Tonight Josephine, 111 Waterloo Rd, Lambeth, London SE1 8UL.
