The Ampersand’s private cinema is a perfect date night spot with parmesan and truffle oil popcorn!
Sick of sharing a cinema with other people? This is for you…
Fancy hiring your very own cinema, with popcorn included?
From the 4th September until 6th November, The Ampersand hotel in South Kensington will be showing iconic films that are inspired by the five central concepts at the hotel – botany, music, geometry, ornithology and astronomy.
There’s a film for each, with La La Land for music, for botany there’s The Jungle Book and for ornithology Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Don’t expect to find any chewing gum down the back of the seats either. The underground spot is padded out with low-set armchairs, sofas and leather poufs.
And the food and drink is a cut above the rest with popcorn created by the hotel’s pastry team with favours including parmesan and truffle oil, smoked paprika and herb butter and sweet cinnamon.
There’s cocktails included too, and room for eight people to enjoy the evening together.
With films being shown from 6.30pm, guests can explore the Victorian cellars of the hotel to discover Apero, the hotel’s award-winning restaurant. Apero’s relaxed atmosphere is the perfect setting to enjoy a pre-movie lunch of modern Mediterranean small plates before heading in to the big screen.
The package is £25 per person and includes exclusive use of the 19th century vault, the movie screening and complimentary cocktails and popcorn.
