A pop-up cocktail bar in an abandoned car wash is officially launching to the public

On Thursday 6th August, The Old Car Wash in Homerton, a pop-up cocktail bar in an abandoned car wash, will be officially open to the public.

The Hackney pop-up will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout August and September.

To celebrate their opening, The Old Car Wash in Homerton will be giving out a free cocktail to everyone who books a table for the opening Thursday and Friday (6th and 7th of August).

The Old Car Wash in Homerton is a fun, unique and authentic space with an industrial look and feel, offering a huge outdoor yet covered over area (seats 70).

By retaining some of the old features of the car wash, the space feels truly distinctive, especially when juxtaposed with high class cocktails. The team have transformed an old abandoned space into a vibrant place to spend long summer weekends and are passionate about offering high quality cocktails made by professionals at affordable prices.

The drinks menu will consist of a range of classics alongside a number of bespoke creations to suit the quirky nature of the space. Beer from Camden Brewery will also be available.

The site is one of the first new openings in the UK that has been set up specifically with Covid safety in mind – rather than reactively adapting in line with the new rules. The large outdoor area leaves ample space for distanced seating spots and the bar will be mostly bookings with a maximum group of 8 and a small allowance for walk-ins.

There will also be a one-way system in place for people and table service where customers can order through their phones. The team wanted to set up a space that had a warm and welcoming atmosphere, whilst also helping customers to feel completely safe in having fun, in the ‘new normal’ way.
