There’s a festival celebrating London’s greatest sandwiches coming this May
Burgers, Gin… Pizzas, they’ve all had their own festivals.
So why not sandwiches?
London is getting it’s very first Sandwich fest. Bringing together everything from American style subs and Vietnamese Banh Mi to Ice Cream sandwiches.
The Kickstarter led event will pop up in East London in May with 8 sandwich specialists. Founded by Daniel Bell, the festival reveals that Brits eat 11.5 billion sandwiches per year!
With sandwich lovers pledging their support on the crowdfunding site, the event which reached its goal with rewards including having a sandwich named after you, and a chance to be on the judging panel.
Sub Cult, a street-food outfit known for its Michelin star chef collaborations; Deeney’s, the home of the haggis toastie; and Project Sandwich have all already signed up to the event, and more yummy restaurants and cafes are to be announced soon.
There will be craft beer and live music playing throughout the day plus lots of special guests and surprise additions.
